Shravya Ghantasala

Hi! My name is Shravya, and I’m a senior at the University of Michigan! I’m majoring in Public Health with a minor in social work.

For the longest time, I had a hobby for photography – I remember having my teal bedroom wall covered in Polaroids from my Instax Mini when I was younger. It wasn’t until I took an amazing class through the Prison Creative Arts Project that I decided to take this interest more seriously! I love music – I always have headphones in, I am obsessed with deep songs and getting into an artist’s discography, and I will drop everything to go to a concert. That’s why I love concert photography – it combines something that’s a part of me and something I’ve wanted to pursue!

I also shoot portraits because I love meeting people and getting to know them on a deeper level. I resonate most with authentic portraits that can really emulate someone’s energy and vision. I’d love to help small business owners and artists get photos of themselves to use for their brand! Of course, I’m down to shoot any portraits – my goal is to capture passion and people in their element :)
